Charcoal Roasted Competition Oolong
This tea is offered in sealed 1 jin (600g) jars.
The dry leaves are uniform in shape and fantastically beautiful. The dry leaves are dark brown in color and have a distinct aroma of longan wood, brown sugar, and cream from the charcoal roasting.
The first round of brewing has a strong longan aroma – the aroma is reminiscent of both freshly cut longan wood, and the longan flower in bloom. There is also a lingering note of brown sugar. The first sip is sweet, creamy, and has a noticeably light smokey flavor. The aftertaste is full-bodied, and tastes of roasted hazelnuts.
The second round of brewing has a stronger longan flower flavor. The flavors of longan fruit, brown sugar, and heavy cream are also present. The aftertaste has morphed into a compelling mix of woody and fruity flavors.
The third round of brewing increases the sweet cream notes, as well as the distinct note of longan wood that is only present when using traditional Tan Bei charcoal roasting. The aroma is sweet and pleasant. In this round, there is a noticeable cha qi starting to build up. You will begin to feel relaxed, and extremely comfortable in the moment.
